August 23 Hot 6Teen Program
Talented teens who aspire to music careers will appreciate this comprehensive class taught by acclaimed spoken word artist, Sarahca Peterson. This program refers to the number of bars of music for one rap verse. Learn how to create socially significant messages through creative writing, music composition, studio production, marketing, branding and album development. This exciting workshop will explore the historical and current relevance of rap on the music industry and amplify your skills. All students will perform during a live showcase at Ali!

August 2nd-24th Wednesdays & Thursdays | 5:30-6:45PM |$125.00 for 8 classes (4 week program -2 class per week)

August 24 Ali Jam Sessions featuring “Big Sound Better Band”
Want your shot in the spotlight? Take center stage at Ali during the monthly Jam Sessions. All levels of singers, musicians and poets are encouraged to jam alongside our special guest band of the month. Hosted by Eccentrich. (4th Thursday of each month).

August 26 Acting Out!
Does your child enjoy the spotlight? Acting Out will help young actors, aspiring actors and all students rev up their confidence while developing skills including improvisation, characterization, movement, vocal production, script analysis and scene study. Classes are taught by Kendrick Jones, Artistic Director at Epic Arts. Class dates/times subject to change.

Saturdays 2:00pm - 3:30pm I Registration: $25.00. Monthly Fee: $30.00 (Ages 8-18).

August 27 Rootz of Music performance
Rootz of Music, Inc. is proud to present a historical musical extravaganza that chronicles the development of popular songs that were the foundation in both Jamaica and the Americas starting from the mid 1940’s to present time. Led by world class Jamaican guitarist, composer, arranger, music instructor Eugene Grey, the show will also feature singers and dancers performing the music of the popular artists of each era such as Louis Jordan, Harry Belafonte, Byron Lee and the Dragoneers . This innovative and entertaining musical presentation is staged to demonstrate the interconnectivity of American and Jamaican music and how two separate elements of two genres merged and became what is now known as Reggae and Hip Hop.

August 30 Lunch with Art
Nourish your creative side! The Bailey Contemporary Arts invites you every Wednesday to bring your lunch, or grab a little nosh from our in-house café, and sit down for an hour in the galleries amongst art and artists. Each week will vary with something different- special guest artist speakers, simple hands-on activities, or just a calm break to enjoy your sandwich with some music and art. Free wifi available. Better than your breakroom! Blooming Bean Coffee Company serves up freshly brewed, locally roasted coffees along with sweet and savory baked goods like empanadas, scones, and cookies. August 31 BaCA Exhibitions: Tour with Terry
If you want to learn more about our exhibits, join us for our weekly tours led by acclaimed curator Terry Davis. Grab a coffee from our café and embark on an exciting journey through the minds of our artists. Guided by the voice of experience, you will learn to better appreciate art and explore the emotional impact of each creation. Terry Davis’ extensive insight provides an interesting, interactive, and entertaining experience. Davis is celebrating his 40th year working in the arts. He has done exhibits in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D. C., Miami, Paris, Cannes and Tokyo. He currently owns and operates American Arts Management where he curates exhibits for commercial art galleries. Blooming Bean Coffee Company, located within the Bailey Contemporary Arts offers locally roasted and brewed crafted coffee and lite, sweet and savory bites. The Pompano Beach Cultural Center is proud to present Class Clowns; A night of laughter, art, music and good times. Join us August 31, 2017 for our very first comedy showcase here at the Cultural Center, where the audience will have the opportunity to help decide the next up and coming comedians to open for Tony!
