The Gathering

A one-day event held at Apollo park in Pompano Beach. The event will feature activities such as:

1. Photograph Scanning Station: Residents will be encouraged to bring old photographs, which will be scanned and digitized on-site.
2. Oral History Recording Booth: A dedicated area for community members to share their personal stories and experiences, which will be recorded for archival purposes.
3. Historical Exhibit: Displays showcasing existing historical documents, artifacts, and information about Pompano Beach's black history.
4. Refreshment Area: A space for attendees to enjoy light refreshments and socialize with fellow community members.

About Rock Road

Rock Road Restoration Historical Group is a non-profit organization responsible for the historical preservation and restoration of the northwest section of Pompano Beach, Florida, aims to host an event called the "Gathering." This event will serve as a platform for residents to contribute to the collection, preservation, and archiving of Pompano Beach's black history. The "Gathering" will take place at a local park and feature stations for scanning photographs, recording oral histories, and exhibiting existing historical documents.
