July 19 The Magnificent Circus Mystery
A steamer trunk, a mysterious book, and a hat belonging to Harry Houdini begin a show filled with magic, juggling, unicycling, and physical comedy. The audience must solve clues, overcome obstacles, and figure out a 90 year-old-secret as they help to create the story from beginning to end.

$10 Adults, $8 Residents, $5 Youth

July 19 The Great Pizza Contest
Storyologists, Page and Kenny transport the entire audience to the town of Mozzarella via their Once Upon a TIME MACHINE. There, everyone helps solve the very cheesy problem of who makes the best pizza …Vincent Van Dough or Leonardo Da Munchi?

July 20 Life Drawing Studio
Life Drawing, also referred to as Figure Drawing, is the best and quickest way to improve your drawing skills and your visual perception. Life drawing trains your eye to catch things that photos do not show. Therefore learning to master figure drawing is more than bones and muscles, it is about the subtle differences and minor details such as weight-bearing and positioning that translates to all forms.

We are excited to be able to bring this opportunity to all artists through our new Life Drawing Studio at Bailey Contemporary Arts in the City of Pompano Beach.

During this 2-hour session, live models pose draped for short "gesture" as well as longer poses. This program is ideal for individuals interested in portrait painting, character design, illustration, animation, anatomical drawing, however ALL artists benefit from Life Drawing sessions.

Artists are invited to bring their own materials and supplies.

This activity doesn’t provide formal instruction; participants work at their own pace and in their preferred medium.

Space available for 6 participants per session, so register early!

The Music Is Your Ali program is currently offering instruction in piano, guitar and drums. Students 12 and up are invited to join us each Saturday, for free 30-minute music lessons thanks, in part, to the support of the Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation. Take this opportunity to grow your skill and fuel your passion!

July 21 Staged Play Reading - "For Colored Girls"
This is an open Call for Auditions for African American female actors, ages 16+, for the staged reading of the critically acclaimed show For Colored Girls, which opened on Broadway in 1977 and received a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and a Theatre World Award. Synopsis -- a black woman explores seven facets of herself and emerges a stronger person in Ntozake Shange's "choreo-poem." Please be prepared for the July 21 auditions with a one-two minute monologue. The play reading will take place on August 31 at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center.

July 25 Montage – A Film Series
This month, Montage celebrates National Dance Day with a screening of the documentary, Pina, is a 2011 German film which examines the life and career of choreographer and contemporary dancer Pina Bausch. It was directed by Wim Wenders and premiered at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival. During the preparation of the documentary, Pina Bausch died unexpectedly. Wenders cancelled the film production, but the other dancers of Tanztheater Wuppertal convinced him to make the film anyway. It showcases these dancers, who talk about Pina and perform some of her best-known pieces inside the Tanztheater Wuppertal and in various outdoor locations around the city of Wuppertal.
