October 18 Making Your Mark Workshop
This workshop is beginner friendly and open to all - at least 50% of workshop space is reserved for artists with disabilities. Fast, flexible, and adaptive portable approaches for building and printing images will be explored as tools for documentation, social commentary, and community-building. Participants will work together to create a series of large-scale collaborative prints, and a print to take home.

The workshop will begin with a discussion of contemporary works that use printmaking as a tool for political and social activism, and a demonstration of simple monoprint, collagraph, and relief techniques. All of the techniques learned can be completed indoors or out, without a printing press and using only a small set of easy-to-transport tools.

Artist Bio: Rebeka Burns is a community-based artist and educator with 10 years of experience facilitating arts programming in hospitals, museums, prisons and shelters. She currently leads art programs for artists with disabilities at the Palm Beach Habilitation Center in Lake Worth. In December 2019, the Center will present the first annual UNDISCOVERED Art Festival, featuring visual and performing arts by more than 100 artists with disabilities, student, emerging and established artists.

October 19 Life Drawing Studio
Life Drawing, also referred to as Figure Drawing, is the best and quickest way to improve your drawing skills and your visual perception. Therefore learning to master figure drawing is more than bones and muscles, it is about the subtle differences and minor details such as weight-bearing and positioning that translates to all forms.

We are excited to be able to bring this opportunity to all artists through our new Life Drawing Studio at Bailey Contemporary Arts in the City of Pompano Beach.

During this 2-hour session, live models pose draped for short "gesture" as well as longer poses. This program is ideal for individuals interested in portrait painting, character design, illustration, animation, anatomical drawing, however ALL artists benefit from Life Drawing sessions.
